Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, this position will require the candidate to work individually and within the mining team to provide geotechnical input and assistance into mine design, planning and production. The position offers a chance to broaden your skills and allows you to make a difference with an emphasis on career development.

 

Key responsibility areas include:

·       Collection, maintenance and analysis of geotechnical data

·       Input into planning and stope designs

·       Seismic monitoring and analysis

·       Exposure to paste fill systems

·       Assessment and implementation of ground control plans

·       Quality control of ground support installation

·       Geotechnical input for Life of Mine projects and sequencing

Qualifications

·       Tertiary qualification in Geology, Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology or Mining Geomechanics

·       Sound knowledge of rock mechanic principles and theory

·       Excellent communication skills

·       5 Years Experience at an UG mine

·       Experience with Vulcan, Map3D and Rocscience software will be advantageous
