Our Presence in Australia
In 2006, La Mancha acquired AREVA's Australian gold assets, consisting of interests in two former open pit mines and a number of exploration tenements, most located in the prolific Kalgoorlie area of Western Australia. We put the Frog's Leg mine back into commercial production as an underground operation as of January 2009, and resumed production at the White Foil open pit mine early in 2010.
Our current activities
In Australia, we are currently operating our 51%-owned Frog's Leg mine and our 100%-owned White Foil mine, which lie just 2 km apart. We continue to explore the Frog's Leg deposit for additional reserves, and to develop the White Foil mine, where we are considering building a mill. We are also exploring other exploration tenements in the surrounding area, with the goal of supplementing our resource inventory.
