Our Presence in Sudan
In 2006, La Mancha acquired AREVA's gold assets in Sudan, consisting of a 40% interest in the Hassaï mine in partnership with the Sudanese government, and interests in exploration tenements. With these assets, we also inherited a long and stable history of involvement in Sudan that extends back to before the Hassaï mine opened in 1992.
Our current activities
We are presently producing gold at the Hassaï mine, where we are the mine operator. Concurrently, we are intensively exploring and developing the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits underlying the Hassaï mine open pits, which promise to be the cornerstone of La Mancha's mid-term growth. We are also investigating the potential of our other exploration holdings in the highly prospective Arabian-Nubian Shield of Sudan.
