At LA MANCHA, we are committed  to reducing consumption and waste while minimizing our residual impact on the natural environment and populations. Our environmental practices are the outcome of environmental risk identification and assessment, determination of stakeholder expectations, internal and external benchmarking, environmental report analysis, and dialogue with our operating units.

Environmental considerations can be a particular challenge in Africa, where water is scarce, operating conditions are difficult and there is little history of local environmental awareness. We bring an international perspective to this important aspect of our business. As operator and minority shareholder at both our African gold mines, we use our best efforts to ensure that international best practice is used to the greatest extent possible, even in areas with little environmental regulation.
